Random Tip: Single File, Labels Out!

I’ve posted briefly about this before, but it’s such a great few tips that I thought I’d rehash…

Here's a picture (not a very good one... sorry!) of our pantry right after I reorganized it the other day.

Here’s a picture (not a very good one… sorry!) of half of our pantry right after I reorganized it the other day.

When organizing – in my case, a pantry – , take the extra minute to:

  • Line items up nicely. (And, a hint for all my fellow homeschoolers out there, this is called “Single File” … 😉 )
  • Face the labels out.
  • Remove unnecessary packaging.

Facing the labels out is especially helpful with those canned goods. And, particularly if you buy certain items in larger quantities, lots of packaging can be removed to create a more organized, less confusing space. For example: Store potatoes, onions, and the like in hanging baskets; stack extra rolls of bath tissue and paper towels, without the clutter of the packaging; boxes of cans, or packs of drinks can be unloaded onto shelves/baskets for a neater look.

What are your favorite organizing tips?
