I love those times when hospitality just happens. Living close to so many of our dearest friends means that, at the drop of a hat, at the first sign of a snow day, at the earliest signs of spring, at those moments when you simply want to share a story, we can be together.
Sometimes there’s an agenda for the get-together. Often, there’s no plan at all. On one of these great, sunny days we’ve had lately, several families came and just took a stroll through one of the pastures. We took a peek at our newest calf, the kids got to discover frog eggs, and pleasant conversation was the unstated theme. No formal invitations. No need for coordinating decorations. No ironing the table linens. Just casual fellowship.
