Finger Foods that Aren’t Sweet

Have you ever been to one of those wonderful gatherings where finger foods are provided at supper time? You’re hungry enough to eat a nice, fat, juicy steak and a whole potato, but your options are mostly cream cheese mints and cupcakes. While those foods are tasty, they leave you wanting something more satisfying.

Next time, consider some not-so-sweet finger foods. They can be as simple or as complicated as you want to go. Here are a few of my favorites:

Fruit & Cheese Platter

  • Get adventurous and try some new-to-your-palate cheeses. Try Havarti, Asiago, Gouda, Brie, Sharp Cheddars, etc., etc., etc. So many choices!
  • Fresh or Dried Fruit. Try Green Grapes, Figs, Cherries, Craisins, etc.

Veggie Platter

  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Grape Tomatoes
  • Ranch Dip

Cheese, Olives, and Artichoke Hearts

  • Marinated Cheeses
  • Green Olives, Kalamata Olives, Black Olives
  • Marinated Artichoke Hearts
  • Tooth Picks
