Hot Chocolate to Die For

Before you go out and join the group around the fire, take a moment to prepare some delicious hot drinks. Everyone will thank you (especially in this weather)!

Here is a recipe for an AMAZING drink, appropriately named:

Hot Chocolate to Die For

This recipe is from Jeff Smith’s “Frugal Gourmet Cooks American”

2 – 3 oz. milk chocolate
1tsp. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 cup half and half or cream

Stir chocolate, butter and vanilla together in a double boiler until melted and
smooth.  Add half and half or cream slowly, incorporating it gradually as it heats, but do
not boil.  Server over a handful of miniature marshmallows and garnish with
a dash of nutmeg.

Also, you might play around with other delightful add-ins, such as coffee, Kahlua, amaretto, Irish cream, etc.

(FYI, we have experienced a calamity, in that we cannot place our Frugal Gourmet cookbook… So, we’ll have to trust the good ol’ internet for the accuracy of this recipe.)
