With small children, it’s often best to schedule and portion snacks. And bored kids tend to be “hungry” very frequently. So, despite the craziness of travel, you can be ready for the, “I’m hungry, Mommy,” calls from the back seat.
Set snack times. Even if you don’t do this at home, it will serve you well on the road. Like I said, bored kids are “hungry” more frequently. So, say, a 10 AM snack, and, may be a 3 PM snack. Something like that.
In addition to that, you can have small, easy-to-use containers for each of the kids. Try something like THESE. Fill them with not-so-messy snacks. Here are some of the things that we’ve enjoyed:
- Animal Crackers
- Trail Mix
- Fruit Strips
- Granola Bars
- Clementine Sections
