What to Expect from the Kids

Hospitality, serving others, and visiting with others can seem a little daunting with children. But, don’t under estimate the abilities of those kiddos! At almost any age, they are capable of behaving politely, showing respect to their host or guests, and still enjoying themselves. Here are just a few very basic lessons that my siblings and I learned as children:

  • Always thank the cook/hostess – regardless of how much you like the food.
  • Never complain (including with facial expressions) about the food… or any other aspect of the hospitality… or anything at all. 🙂
  • Don’t be picky. Try every dish!
  • Ask politely to be excused when you are finished. If the answer is “No, not yet.”, continue sitting politely at the table.

There will be more to come on this important topic. Stay tuned!
