Joy in the Mundane

How often I quote my grandmother by saying, “Life gets tedious sometimes…”. I don’t think any of us would deny the fact that life is made up of lots of little, mundane, everyday, “tedious” happenings. Every morning you wake up, you get dressed, you fix your hair, you walk the dog, you do all the same things that you do every other morning. Once you walk into the kitchen, you see the same things you always see. Dishes. Dirty dishes to be washed, clean ones to be put away.

Part of setting a pleasant atmosphere for your guests is setting a pleasant atmosphere for your day-to-day home. Setting a pleasant atmosphere for your day-to-day home includes finding joy in the mundane daily grind.

So, go put on your music and apron, and tackle those dishes with a smile!

Joy in the Mundane

This helpful reminder sits in our kitchen window above the sink.

“If we look externally there is a difference betwixt the washing of dishes and preaching of the Word of God; but as touching to please God, in relation to His call, none at all.”

William Tyndale
